As we all know, Frank Graves at Ekos is stating that Canadians are not longer supporting the Conservatives in polls to the tune of 45%—and that their clear majority government territory HAS vanished. Whether that amounts to anything IRL is of course a different matter.

A week in time can be a year in political time.

PP’s cooked his own goose by not immediately leaping to Canada’s defence. Even some of my die hard Conservative friends are pissed that he’s not standing up for Canada and waffling about Alberta. As one of them said, “both him and that cow in Alberta are nothing but shills for the oil and gas industry. They don’t care about their supporters, or the country or anything, all they care about are their own asses!” And this guy was one of the most staunch and in my mind, ignorant PP supporter out there.

Moe is opposed to export tariffs. He is not opposed to retaliatory import tariffs.

I think the next election will be about Canadian pride and sovereignty. We have been a sleepy electorate, too many eligible voters staying at home or voting for their incumbent just because that’s what “everyone else” is doing. We have a lot of 20 and 25 year MPs very comfortable in their seats, essentially unchallenged at the polls by a lazy constituency. Do not take Canada for granted!

Surely we need to know what Trump actually does, versus reacting emotionally to what he threatens to do.

Much of this is bluster, including the claim America doesn't need Canadian oil.

Poilievre is wise not to get drawn into a nationalistic chest beating contest, for this reason and the reasons you mention.

Backed by the Heritage Foundation NONE of this is bluster! He is doing exactly what is written in their 2025 Book and this was one of the things they wanted,

Let's see what he actually does. He didn't build a giant wall, funded by Mexico. He does need Canadian oil, because his alternative is Venezuelan and the USA is 5 million bopd short versus its consumption.

Panic is what he wants us to do and it creates an unhelpful rally around the flag effect for the Liberals, who need to be ousted.

Collombia has averted 25% tarrifs by simply allowing flights with deported immigrants.

The Canadian government has an obligation to the citizens and its allies to defend its border, so perhaps they should just do that instead of capitalizing on the political photo opps at the expense of their citizens....https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/c20p36e62gyo

I dont think its about sides.....but responsible government, doing whats in the best interests of Canada. Secure borders, good relationships with major trading partners, and diversifying our markets for energy should be top priorities.

I am absolutely dumbfounded to see how a child-man with the worldly experience of a paperboy is being considered as a serious candidate to lead our country. I’m no liberal, but I can see how Mark Carney will skate circles around the slogan spewing idiot, and rise above the orange, bloated criminal to the south. Wake up Canadians, we need a strong and capable government, not a compliant one

Conservatives? Trump's biggest Canadian hurtle isn't the Con's. it's Canadians. Nor Pierro the clown, Justinny, the libtards, Con's or Harper speak for Canada and Canadians. Micro mindset.
